For business supplies attracting the Climate Change Levy on their electricity bills, the cost of specifying electricity from wholly renewable resources can be broadly cost neutral.
Prices of electricity generated from oil, gas and coal have increased significantly – to the point at which electricity generated from wind farms and other renewable sources begins to look attractive.
Although the cost per kWh unit of green energy is still more expensive than that for brown energy, it does not attract the Climate Change Levy – which brings the costs much more in line.
